I added entry for French (not sure on gender assigned to this proper noun), corrected the Bambara original name, and deleted the meaning in the etymologies (the latter probably best discussed at Bamakɔ). Is it likely that the term in English came from Bambara directly, or via French? Keep in mind that Bamako was not that important a town (unlike say Segu) prior to French colonization of the area.--A12n (talk) 12:46, 9 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
