Is this term generally used to refer to a specific drink, or is it a generic term? What is the etymology, significance of "Darvon"? How common is the term? My reading seems to suggest it might be a sort of urban legend. -anon — This comment was unsigned.

If you did some research you'd find darvon is the brand name for an opiate known as propoxyphene, and a darvon cocktail is a method of committing suicide. You mix an antiemetic like metaclopromide (to keep you from vomitting) along with propoxyphene, and a barituate (to knock you out and increase the respiratory depression) and apparently causes a nice painless death. — This comment was unsigned.
