Helvetia-Elvetía-Elveția[edit]

But Romanian is a Latin/Romance language.Elveția comes directly from Latin Helvetia and not from (Byzantine and Modern) Greek Elvetía Kp4816 (talk) 18:33, 11 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Not every Latin word survives in inherited form in any Romance language, and the name for Switzerland doesn't strike me as something important enough in daily life to have stayed in use all that time. Of course, it could have been a borrowing from medieval Latin, but some kind of evidence would be helpful in making your case for either possibility.
