Example[edit]

Not sure if this should be listed on the page but http://www.nizkor.org/features/fallacies/appeal-to-authority.html lists "Also Known as: Fallacious Appeal to Authority, Misuse of Authority, Irrelevant Authority, Questionable Authority, Inappropriate Authority, Ad Verecundiam"

So much like with ad hominem being a shortening by dropping 'argumentum', this also appears to do this.

It makes me wonder if it's ever shortened further by dropping the 'ad'. Do people ever say just hominem/verecundiam? Etym (talk) 08:22, 19 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No I don't think I've ever encountered someone saying that in English 65.204.170.68 18:26, 23 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
