I’ve never heard of dog's breakfast, but I’ve heard making a dog's dinner of something so often that it almost feels like American Engish to me. —Stephen 20:27, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
In the UK dog's breakfast and dinner both mean a complete mess. The antonym(ish) is dog's pyjamas or dog's bollocks. SemperBlotto 07:11, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The second, contradictory meaning ("The exact opposite of a complete mess") is unknown to me. Equinox 14:14, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Dog's breakfast (“mess”) and the cat's pyjamas (“an excellent thing”) are familiar to me in Canada, but I haven't heard the others. Michael Z. 2009-09-24 02:15 z
