Possible missing maths/physics sense[edit]

Uses in mathematics and theoretical physics should be added. In particular, adjectival use: "guage invariant", "gauge theory", etc. (is this an adjective?)

WP at gauge theory says, "The term gauge refers to any specific mathematical formalism to regulate redundant degrees of freedom in the Lagrangian of a physical system." Is that the same as our existing mathematical sense here (a "semi-norm")? Equinox 15:54, 30 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
