Do the Cossack definition and Polish-Lithuanian definitions share the same etymon? In Turkic languages, ata means something like father, does the word for the Cossack sense not derive from Turkic peoples? Even if not directly, would it not explain the ata instead of het in certain languages (that may have or may not have modelled the word after Turkic languages)? 83.83.1.229 07:28, 3 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
