I didn't know this was a word...
As far as I'm concerned, higgledy-piggledy has a long pedigree as a word. What it is not, is a synonym for willy-nilly. Willy-nilly is a corruption of "will he or nill he," in other words, "whether he wants to or not.''
Audio is mispronouncing it?[edit]
Playing the pronunciation audio file, I can only hear "hig-alee-pig-alee" as though the two d's are not there at all. Mistake? 70.59.238.212 06:43, 21 October 2023 (UTC)
