Surely your first definition is only homoerotic if one is a homosexual? Andrew massyn 18:01, 5 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, this is a bad definition, I am updating it now. TheDaveRoss 18:24, 5 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Both the Concise Oxford and Merriam-Webster [1] agree that the adjectives homosexual and homoerotic are synonymous, so I have re-added this definition. Jonathan Webley 21:09, 5 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
There is also a widespread "sloppy" use of homoerotic to mean "pertaining to male-focused eroticism", even when there's no hint of homosexuality around (because the image is of a single man alone), e.g. [2]. The first photograph there (which is only very vaguely erotic at all, and thoroughly SFW) is of a man who could easily be straight, but because of the sexist assumption that only men look at erotica, it's labeled "homoerotic". —Angr 16:07, 27 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
