Czech translation[edit]

An okay translation could be změť. Still, I assume there would be a better one, so I am leaving the entry untranslated so far. --Daniel Polansky 15:14, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cookie etymology[edit]

Why is the ring-shaped cookie definition listed under the same etymology as the others and not as a cognate of gimmal? Is there any evidence in favor of this?Al B G (talk) 00:47, 28 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I have split it into a separate etymology. If it is related to gimmal, please add that. Equinox 16:56, 11 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Missing sense?[edit]

Chambers 1908 has an additional intransitive sense: "to jump at, to accept eagerly". Equinox 16:55, 11 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
