net 30 days?[edit]

Anyone know the exact meaning "net" in the phrase "net 30 days" as it appears on an invoice? I realise it means you need to pay it within 30 days of the invoice date, but what does the 'net' refer to? The days (i.e. 30 days to pay from the invoice date, including time in the mail), or the amount (the whole amount is due within 30 days)? --Surturz 07:17, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

A little more context would help. I assume from what you say above, that it is a recurring charge for services rendered, the sum charges of thirty days service being labelled as "net 30 days." --Connel MacKenzie 07:22, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
