I wouldn't agree. The image is accurate. What we (by which I mean some editors) object to would be an image involving nudity that's not relevant or tenuously relevant to the term in question. Mglovesfun (talk) 14:12, 28 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Strippers wear pasties, no argument there. But can it be attested in the singular in this spelling? I would have said the singular was pastie (and indeed, I do see cites for that). Otherwise I can't help picturing a strange and not unappealing image involving a popular Cornish snack. Ƿidsiþ 14:20, 28 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It appears to be about equally as common as (deprecated template usage) pastie and I've added four cites. Annoyingly there were several more where the bgc snippet didn't actually quite include the relevant passage. Thryduulf (talk) 18:09, 28 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

RFV passed. Thanks for the cites, Thryduulf! —RuakhTALK 16:43, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Pâté?[edit]

Chambers 1908 has this rather odd entry: "Pâté, n. pie: pasty. Pâté de foie gras, pasty of fat goose liver." I think it must be an error, perhaps because of Strasbourg pie, but thought I'd mention it here. Equinox 22:39, 22 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
