Talk:sea trout

Whilst most British anglers regard the sea trout as a separate species, its behaviour and colouring being most like that of the salmon, biologists regard the sea trout as a variety of brown trout. Have I steered an appropriate middle-course in my definition? Dbfirs 18:51, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

Broader sense?

Chambers 1908 is taxonomically broader, calling it a popular name for "various species of the genus Salmo, but especially the common Salmo trutta". Equinox ◑ 10:13, 7 October 2019 (UTC)
