All English noun can be used attributively, modifying a following noun. We don't have a separate section because it would be almost entirely the same as the noun or with trivial modifications. If there were use of the term as a predicate ("That exponent is superscript"), modified by adverbs like very or too ("a very superscript exponent"), if it were used gradably ("more/less superscript") or comparatively, or with a different meaning, we would want to have a separate section. Missing noun sense?[edit]

Chambers 1908 also defines superscript as "superscription": I don't know which sense, but possibly writing on the outside of something? Equinox 20:50, 14 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
