Usage[edit]

This template may be used in "References" and "Further reading" sections, and on talk pages, to cite Paul Brians' Common Errors in English Usage (2nd edition, 2009). It also creates a link to website on which the book is based.

Parameters[edit]

The template takes the following positional or named parameters:

  • |1= or |entry= – the title of the webpage to be cited. If this parameter is omitted, the template uses the name of the Wiktionary entry.
  • |2= or |url= – the template automatically attempts to create a link based on the title of the webpage specified using |1=, |entry= or the Wiktionary entry, but if this link is incorrect use |2= or |url= to specify the URL of the webpage to be cited.
  • |3=, |page= or |pages= – the page number(s) of the work cited. Use |pages= to specify a range of pages, separating the first and last page numbers of the range with an en dash like this: |pages=110–111.
  • |4=, |text=, or |passage= – a passage quoted from the webpage.
  • |nodot= – by default, the template adds a full stop (period) at the end of the citation. To suppress this punctuation, use |nodot=1 or |nodot=yes.

Examples[edit]
