This template should be used to generate the headword line for English terms whose part of speech does not have an associated specialized template. The current specialized templates are {{en-noun}}, {{en-proper noun}}, {{en-pron}} (pronouns), {{en-verb}}, {{en-adj}}, {{en-adv}} (adverbs), {{en-prefix}}, {{en-suffix}}, {{en-intj}} (interjections), {{en-prepphr}} (prepositional phrases). All others should use {{en-head}}.
Most important parameters
|1=(required)- The part of speech. Can be singular or plural, and can be abbreviated according to the abbreviations listed under Template:head#Part of speech. Particularly useful will be
conj(conjunction),contr(contraction),det(determiner),pcl(particle),prep(preposition) andsym(symbol). |head=- Override the default linking algorithm for multiword expressions. Multiple comma separated items are allowed, each with their own inline modifiers. See Module:en-headword for more.
|nolink=1- Disable linking of individual words in multiword expressions, for foreign-origin terms where the individual words are not English, e.g. e pluribus unum.
See Module:en-headword for the full list of parameters as well as a description of the default linking algorithm and default suffix handling.
