Why isn't this passing through the lang= parameter? --Connel MacKenzie 18:26, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

I tried to implement a potential solution, making this template a soft redirect to context/cattag, which despite being fairly straightforward was too difficult to code live, as per our conversation now at WT:GP, primarily because it takes so long for any changes to update that debugging is impractical. So I reverted and deprecated, as noted.
The more pertinent question I guess is why would it need to pass lang= param? No new templates should be using cattag/equate, and any old templates if updated should be using context/cat /tag /cattag or /template. If you're using context (or cattag, which redirects) from a dictionary entry under a foreign language, and it isn't categorizing under that language, that means it's an old monolingual template which is working the same now as it did under the old system. I'm sorry, but I don't follow any of that. Why does it recommend (in it's error message facility thing) the proper way to do it, which is improper? Also, the job-queue stuff is an order of magnitude better now, so testing (today and this week) should be much faster. --Connel MacKenzie 16:59, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

1,000 template limit[edit]

On lead/experiment I have hit the new "1,000 template references" limit due to the massive recursion in this template scheme. A shame too, as that experiment has a great deal of potential. --Connel MacKenzie 17:30, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

OTOH, the new limit does explain why the job queue is not ever building up, anymore. --Connel MacKenzie 17:31, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
What were you experimenting with to have accomplished hitting that? DAVilla 23:22, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
