was fwotd

Er, I'm not very good with dates and times... do you want to take over the job of posting {{was fwotd}}? Also, do you think that the template should sort by langauge instead of by spelling in Category:Foreign word of the day archive?

I don't really have the kind of attention available to do such a thing, I don't think. Sorry. It could sort by language, but what if the same word ends up as FWOTD in two different languages? Maybe FWOTD could have a subcategory for the language, though. That way we could immediately see which languages have been featured how many times. It could help with finding a balance. Words could be added to either the language category, or both that and the main category, I'm not sure what's better.

Ach, that's true that sorting could conflict. I dislike the idea of subcats, because we'd have to create massive amounts of them due to our insistence on featuring minority languages, but if you have an automatic solution, I'd be glad to hear it.

There would be a large amount of languages at first, but it's doubtful we will feature many minority languages because they are much harder for us to cite, and people will also nominate them less overall. So the amount of categories we need to create will go down with time.

I disagree. When I get time, I am intending to go through all my dictionaries of minority languages, physical and online, and find interesting words to feature. Finding them in dictionaries solves the citation problem.
