The section of the article you are editing is the etymologyWT:ETY. It deals exclusively with the linguistic heritage of a term or phrase. That is, "where it came from" and not "why it came to exist." In this it has some similarity to genetic heritage - finding out why a cross happened is not the goal; the goal is to discover the crossings. It appears to me your additions are answering solely the why question, which is encyclopedic knowledge and not dictionary material. - Amgine/ t·e 11:39, 10 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

While I would be happy to discuss with you, hopefully here in Vancouver with my aboriginal research colleagues, some of your points of view regarding history, Wiktionary is not the place for such a discussion.
