The section of the article you are editing is the etymology^WT:ETY. It deals exclusively with the linguistic heritage of a term or phrase. That is, "where it came from" and not "why it came to exist." In this it has some similarity to genetic heritage - finding out why a cross happened is not the goal; the goal is to discover the crossings. It appears to me your additions are answering solely the why question, which is encyclopedic knowledge and not dictionary material. - Amgine/ ^t·e 11:39, 10 October 2017 (UTC)
