Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wiktionary. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wiktionarian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the beer parlour or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome! --Connel MacKenzie 03:14, 14 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Getting started[edit]

Hello,

One good place to start is to look on the list of requested words and find a word on there that is still red (that should be most of them) and take a shot at entering your first word.

Also: we're trying out a new feature for words typed into the "search box" over on the left - when you've picked a word from the list that you know, type that word into the search box and hit go. Then try out the thing that says "Lead me by the hand" and click "basic"...and please let me know if you like it.

Thanks!

Hello[edit]

Thank for the message again :)

I'm wondering if you can tell me what 's the meaning of "f", "m", and "c" at the end of the word translation section [1] --Manop 03:52, 14 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You are welcome again. Gender is the only thing that is allowed to be abbreviated in Wiktionary, at least in the body of the definitions of words. {{f}}, {{m}} and huh? C? I don't know what c is for, in engineer. Maybe a typo? I don't know.
Since you are better at languages, than English, perhaps you could help out more efficiently by looking at Wiktionary: Things to do#Category: Check translations or the individual words inside the category: Check translations? --Connel MacKenzie 04:05, 14 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Just to let you know, I have created an About Thai page. Any input, especially on transliterations? DAVilla 14:20, 7 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
