(US) A Tuesday when tacos are, or other Mexican food is, or is customarily, eaten, chiefly in the evening and originally and especially in a restaurant. Today is Cinco de Mayo (“Fifth of May”), which commemorates the anniversary of Mexico’s victory over the Second French Empire at the Battle of Puebla on this day in 1862.
