Wiktionary talk:Index to Internals

In building this index I note there are some things/processes which are inadvertently spread across a few different internal sections of Wiktionary. eg: there is Wiktionary:Cleanup_process and a Wiktionary:Cleanup page, but also an "Entries for Attention" in Wiktionary:Community_Portal. Indexing helps reveal this slightly confused rocess that has grown up.

Now it needs someone brave enough to CleanUp the Clean Up / Needs Attention duplication.

I feel sure other such confusions/duplications will be shown by the process of indexing them.--Richardb 16:10, 20 Nov 2004 (UTC)

After a brief review of your efforts, I need to express my support for what you are doing. It's the sort of thing that needs to be done from time to time. Between times people tend to develop new pages when they can't find what they are looking for.
There is one point that I would put out for consideration. Lately on Wikipedia there has been some effort to move some of the material from the Wikipedia: namespace to the help: namespace. Would there be any support here for doing something like that? If so, how would the material best be divided? Eclecticology 18:25, 20 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Thanks for the support. My idea with Wiktionary:Index is that it is a catch all. If in doubt about where to find something, look it up in the Index. Just like in a book. No doubt it will become big an unwieldy. That's why I started with the Alpha breaks. Later it might be so big we have sub-pages like Index(A-G). Help will remain as a totally separate space.
I might be able to assist in building a better help section, but really I can't afford any time, so no commitment. It's only my addiction that get's me here !!--Richardb 01:39, 21 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Renamed the page to Wiktionary:Index to Internals in anticipation of beginning to 'embed' the page into the Wiktionary Internals, as a shorter, more useable name.--Richardb 04:31, 28 Nov 2004 (UTC)
