[edit]Borrowed from Philippine Spanish batillo, possibly from:
- From batel (“skiff; boat”) + -illo. However, the expected word would be Spanish batelillo. Possibly equivalent to batel + -ilyo. See also Spanish batelero (“boatman; boat captain”).
- From batya + -ilyo.
- Short for binatilyo (“teenage boy”).
