Etymology

[edit]

From blog +‎ master, modelled on webmaster.

Noun

[edit]

blogmaster (plural blogmasters)

  1. (rare, Internet) One who maintains or works on the upkeep of a blog.
    • 2007 February 7, John M. Broder, “Edwards’s Bloggers Cross the Line, Critic Says”, in New York Times[1]:
Ms. Marcotte joined the Edwards campaign at the end of January in the new post of blogmaster.

Usage notes

[edit]

A blogmaster is not always the same as a blogger, just as a webmaster is not the same as the main poster on a website. A blogger posts content to or writes content for a blog; a blogmaster maintains a blog (posting others' writing or their own).
