enthrone +‎ -ize, from Old French introniser (according to Émile Littré, Dictionnaire de la langue française (1863–1872), dating to the 13th century), from Late Latin int(h)ronizāre, from Ancient Greek ἐνθρονίζειν (enthronízein), from ἐν (en, in) + θρόνος (thrónos, throne).
