Cape "coloured" slang with roots in English and Afrikaans. The "entjie" refers to the last bit of a cigarette after it has been smoked almost to completion. Since it would most likely be thrown away by the smoker (mostly "white" at the time of origin), the last bit would be requested by a person of color.

Noun[edit]

entjie ‎(plural entjies)

  1. (South Africa, slang) A cigarette.
