  1. (zoology) Any hexapod of the superfamily Japygoidea.
    • 1981, The Pearce-Sellards Series, numbers 33-46, page 1:
      For example, there are 32 species endemic to California, but no japygoids have been reported from Nicaragua, El Salvador, or Belize in Central America, or from many states in the United States and Mexico.
