lehçe
Appearance
Turkish
[edit]Etymology
[edit]Inherited from Ottoman Turkish لهجه (lehce), from Arabic لَهْجَة (lahja).
Pronunciation
[edit]Noun
[edit]lehçe (definite accusative lehçeyi, plural lehçeler)
Usage notes
[edit]- The word is often rather ambiguously and unscientifically used to refer to what are clearly separate languages; for example, the Turkic languages are sometimes referred to as Türk lehçeleri ("Turkic dialects"). There is also no clear distinction between lehçe and similar terms such as ağız or şive.
Declension
[edit]See also
