A plural form of melodrama formed on the pattern of dramata; representing a supposed Ancient Greek etymon of the form *μελοδρᾱ́ματα (melodrā́mata), from the extant roots μέλος (mélos) and δράματα (drámata) (drāmata; the nominative plural form of δρᾶμα (drâma), drāma).
