  1. One who is mesmerised; one who undergoes hypnosis.
    • 1849, The Zoist: A Journal of Cerebral Physiology & Mesmerism, and Their Applications to Human Welfare, page 267:
      A pain in the stomach, side, or head, of the mesmeriser, was instantly detected by the mesmerisee; and if the former was much out of health, he would injuriously influence the latter.
