From Polish nekrolog, Russian некроло́г (nekrológ), Hungarian nekrológ, from German Nekrolog, borrowed from French nécrologie (“obituary; necrology”), ultimately from the Ancient Greek roots νεκρός (nekrós, “dead”) + -λογία (-logía, “-logy”). Compare Lithuanian nekrologas, Romanian necrolog.
