[edit]Inherited from Ottoman Turkish راستق (rastık), from Classical Persian راسخت (râsoxt, “antimony, stibium”).
Noun
[edit]rastık (definite accusative rastığı, plural rastıklar)
- kohl, a dark powder, usually powdered stibnite, used as makeup for the eyes, especially in Eastern countries
- Synonym: sürme
- rastik, a paste made from a blend of henna and various other ingredients, traditionally used to dye the hair
- (phytopathology) smut, a disease in grasses and cereals caused by a range of fungi, mostly Ustilaginomycetes
