From re- +‎ florescence. Alternatively, directly from Latin reflorescens, present active participle of refloresco (“I flower anew”), from re- +‎ floresco (“I flower”).

1. (botany) A blossoming anew of a plant after it has apparently ceased blossoming for the season.
