rotation government (plural rotation governments)

  1. (politics) A form of government, typically in a parliamentary system with a coalition of parties, where the position of prime minister or head of government is alternated between the leaders of the constituent parties for agreed-upon terms, in countries such as Ireland, Romania, Israel and Bulgaria.
