[edit]Etymology
[edit]From an old adessive form (*sigällä) of se. Compare Finnish siellä. According to Kallio (2020), the Livonian form would regularly be *sigāl, and he theorizes that the Livonian form is from South Estonian (Võro sääl), in turn from Estonian seal.[1]
