sour cherry ‎(plural sour cherries)

  1. Used other than as an idiom: see sour,‎ cherry.
  2. Species of Prunus subg. Cerasus, (cherries), native to much of Europe and southwest Asia, especially, Prunus cerasus, Prunus pseudocerasus, and Prunus cerasoides.
  3. The fruit of these trees, often used for cooking.
