stage mom ‎(plural stage moms)

  1. A woman who aggressively manages her children's acting or performing career, often in what is considered a detrimental and over-bearing manner.

The phrase has expanded to almost any performance related endeavor but is mostly linked to those doing traditional theater stage performances in front of an audience.
