stock up (third-person singular simple present stocks up, present participle stocking up, simple past and past participle stocked up)

  1. (intransitive; often with on) To acquire or increase stock or inventory.
    Troponym: restock
    Q: What about fuel oil? A: We plan to stock up before November.
    Q: What about food? A: We're planning to stock up on canned goods before November.
  2. (intransitive) To swell up (usually refers to edema in a leg).
  3. To extirpate; to dig up.
