strike rate (plural strike rates)

  1. (baseball) The number of runs of a batter divided by the number of balls faced.
  2. (cricket) The number of runs scored by a batsman per 100 balls faced; the number of balls bowled by a bowler divided by the number of wickets taken.
  3. (sales) Sales success as a ratio of the number of customers to the number of potential leads who were approached.
