Etymology[edit]

From Proto-Tocharian *tärm-, ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *trem- (tremble), taking its meaning from "trembling with anger". Compare Latin tremō, Lithuainian trìmti, Albanian tremb. Cf. also the related Tocharian B noun tremi (anger).
