From Old Anatolian Turkish [script needed] (tapšurmaq)[1]. Cognate with Turkish tapşırmak, Uzbek topshirmoq (to deliver, hand over, present), Uyghur تاپشۇرماق(tapshurmaq), Kyrgyz тапшыр (tapşır, to hand over; to assign).
