Borrowed from Latin triumphus (“triumphal procession”), from Old Latin triumpus, from Etruscan *𐌈𐌓𐌉𐌀𐌌𐌐𐌄 (*θriampe), from Ancient Greek θρίαμβος (thríambos, “thriambus”). Doublet of trunfo.
