Wikipedia:Deletion review/Perennial requests

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is a list of perennial requests on deletion review. Please read this before requesting undeletion of any of these articles. Repeated requests every time some new, tiny snippet appears on the web have a tendency to be counter-productive — it is almost always best to wait unless you can decisively overcome the issues identified at deletion.

Please be aware that requesting review of a frequently-reviewed case without an exhaustive and compelling case, or bringing substantial new evidence not seen in previous reviews, may be seen by some as tendentious.

Battle for Dream Island

Battle for Dream Island (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) (a web series) was deleted, salted (even in draftspace) and title-blacklisted because of excessive attempts at recreation and associated disruption. If somebody finds reliable sources that establish notability for this topic, they should request unsalting a draft page at WP:RFPP and provide these sources there. See Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2022 October 19 and WP:Why is BFDI not allowed on Wikipedia?.

Chris Chan

Article used in a harassment campaign, recreated under a dozen different titles and deleted and salted each time. See e.g. discussions from 2022 affirming this outcome at Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2022 February 11, Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Archive335#Creating the "Chris Chan" article.

Template:Support

Along with Template:Oppose, etc. Though these templates are widely used on other Wikimedia wikis, the consensus on the English Wikipedia, demonstrated over numerous discussions, is that they encourage voting rather than discussion aimed at the generation of consensus. Editors wishing to add the images to discussions can add the text importScript('User:Pythoncoder/Scripts/voteSymbols.js'); to their personal JavaScript page to provide the functionality of the templates. Any request for undeletion should provide new arguments, rather than simply asserting that prior consensuses were wrong, or it is likely to be closed speedily.

Priyanka Choudhary

AKA Priya Choudhary, Priyanka Chahar, Pari Choudhary. Actress and reality TV contestant where consensus is she has not met notability requirements. Article keeps being recreated at variations on her name. See AFDs (1, 2), DRVs (1, 2, 3, 4), SPIs (1, 2, 3, 4).

K. Annamalai (BJP politician)

AKA Kuppusamy Annamalai, Annamalai Kuppusamy, Annamalai K. (note that this is a different subject from K. Annamalai of the AIADMK party). BJP party functionary; consensus at several AfDs is that he is non-notable. Frequent recreation under several different titles led to salting and title-blacklisting. There have been multiple attempts to hijack the article on the AIADMK Annamalai and replace its content with the BJP Annamalai. See Talk:K. Annamalai#Page protection for a full list of XfDs, DRVs, and discussions regarding this subject. Also see the DRV that determined the path for recreation.
