Inherited from Middle Russian аренда (arenda) (att. 1665), from Old Ruthenian аренда (arenda) (att. 1550s; whence Ukrainian оренда (orenda)), from Middle Polish arenda, from Medieval Latin arrenda. Ultimately from Vulgar Latin rendo (give back).
