Inherited from Middle Hindi نند (nand /⁠nanad⁠/) / ننند (nanad),^[1] from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀡𑀡𑀁𑀤𑀸 (ṇaṇaṃdā), from Sanskrit ननान्दृ (nánāndṛ), ननन्दृ (nanandṛ).^[2]
