Vietnamese[edit]
Etymology[edit]
Likely a non-Sino-Vietnamese reading of Chinese 化 (SV: hoá), as in the historical name Thuận Hoá (順化). Compare these doublets: hoa vs. huê (Central Vietnam, Southern Vietnam, dated or obsolete) from 花 (MC xwae) as well as hòa vs. huề from 和 (MC hwa).
Pronunciation[edit]
Proper noun[edit]
- Hue (a city, the capital of Thừa Thiên Huế province, Vietnam)
