@Victar - the past tense stood in English (cf the etymology at that entry) seems to contradict the presence of a nasal in the past tense of this West-Germanic verb; compare also the table at *standaną. Should the table at this PWG entry be changed to a form lacking the nasal in the past tense? Or should the absence of a nasal in the Modern English be seen as analogous to its absence in, say, mouth (erasure before dental)? — Mnemosientje (t · c) 14:33, 10 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
