US pronunciation[edit]
The article lists /ˈæʃfɔlt/ (with "sh") as an alternative pronunciation of this word in the US. Is there any source backing this up? My own experience (having lived most of my life on the US west coast) suggests that only /ˈæsfɔlt/ (with "s") is used in the US, and that /ˈæʃfɔlt/ is unrecognized / considered an error in the US. I never heard this word pronounced with "sh" until I moved to Ontario, Canada as an adult. Comments? — Richwales (no relation to Jimbo) 01:01, 30 October 2023 (UTC)
