[edit]From the Medieval form antepõer, from Latin antepōnere, present active infinitive of antepōnō. Cognate with Portuguese antepor.

- Et o dito fernan garcia anteposeo con seus omes et con suas armas et leuouho consigo para a dita rrocha
- And said Fernán Garcia put him in front, with his men and weapons, and took him into said fortress
- (takes a reflexive pronoun) to put oneself ahead, to take the lead
- (figurative, transitive) to fire
Usage notes
[edit]While antepoñer is the more widespread form of this verb, some Galician-speaking regions favor the form antepor and a correspondingly different conjugation.
