Etymology[edit]
Inherited from Ottoman Turkish بر نبذه (bir nebze),[1] from بر (bir) and نبذه (nebze),[2][3] equivalent to bir (“a, one, indefinite determiner”) + nebze (“the smallest particle of a thing, an iota”).
